What is an anime fan event?
An anime convention is an event where fans of Japanese animation and comics gather in a venue where various events related to anime (Japanese for “animation”) and manga take place. One of the biggest anime events is the AnimeExpo, but I will come back to this later in this article.
A majority of anime conventions are organized by groups of volunteers who enjoy anime and cosplay. Events usually last a few days, during which many different programs are organized. There will be panels, workshops, and competitions, so there is something for everyone.

1. Animazement
Animazement is Raleigh’s premier Japanese animation and culture convention!
Animazement provides introduction to Japanese Language and Culture, through the world of Japanese Animation and Manga. For three days each spring, a diverse group of attendees, volunteers, special Japanese and American guests, panelists, and the staff come together to share in celebrating Japanese entertainment and visual culture.
Their activities span the various genres of anime, manga, video games, J-pop/J-rock, martial arts, traditional arts, and crafts, and more in a family-friendly, festival-like atmosphere. Sure, it’s a party, but the main goal is that anyone who attends Animazement will learn something and leave with a greater sense of cultural understanding and appreciation for Japanese Culture and Language.
The event will take place from the 27th till the 29th of May 2022.
The location is Raleigh Convention Center in North Carolina

2. Anime Expo
Anime Expo, also known as “AX”, is the largest Japanese popular culture event in North America. Anime Expo is an annual convention dedicated to Japanese culture. Popular events on this convention include; the Masquerade, Anime Music Video Contest, Concerts, and the Fashion Show. Anime Expo also offers late-night programming such as dance, video screenings, tabletop and electronic gaming, and open-mic karaoke.
Many of the attendees cosplay while attending the convention, and join in the many gatherings for fans of different anime, manga, gaming and other genres.
The event will place from the 1st of July to the 4th in 2022

3. Formerly Wizard World Fan Expo
FAN EXPO Chicago is the ultimate go-to event for sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming event in Chicago that attracts hundreds of thousands of people to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.
